Learning Area

1. The learning area comprises of two main elements.

    a) Science Process Skills (SPS)
     
        SPS 1 : Observing
        SPS 2 : Classifying
        SPS 3 : Measuring and using numbers
        SPS 4 : Communicating
        SPS 5 : Using space-time relationship
        SPS 6 : Defining operationally
        SPS 7 : Experimenting

        * Three Science Process Skills that are being emphasised in the UPSR  
           written test are also being assesed in discussion activities ang TSTS 
           questions. These skills are :
           i) Making inferences
           ii) Predicting
           iii) Interpreting data

      b) Science Manipulative Skills (SMS)
 
          SMS 1 : Using and handling science apparatus and substances correctly
          SMS 2 : Handling living and non-living specimens correctly and carefully.
          SMS 3 : Drawing specimens, science apparatus and substances precisely
                      and in the correct proportion.
          SMS 4 : Cleaning science apparatus with the correct method.
          SMS 5 : Storing science appartus and substances correctly ang carefully.
