Practical is one of the important aspects in the teaching and learning of KBSR Science. Through practical, the ability of pupils to solve problems and make decisions responsibly can be tested. Besides, scientific attitudes and noble values of pupils also can be tested through practical. In fact, practical will be evaluated during the teaching and learning of science. This evaluation will be carried out by using Guidelines Of Practical Assessment that is prepared by the Examination Board. The result of this assessment will become one of the inputs in the grading og the UPSR Science paper.
In the guidelines of Practical Assessment prepared by the Examination Board, there are some elements that need to be introduced to the pupils. These elements consist og generic skills such as Science Process Skills (SPS) and Science Manipulative Skills (SMS). There are seven SPS aspects and fives SMS aspects with specific criteria being assessed in the Practical Assessment.
